This course is designed to introduce students to the knowledge of trauma informed theory and practice in social work. Students will explore Indigenous and non-Indigenous theories of trauma and attachment research. Trauma will be examined from a holistic, developmental and relational approach. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the implications of trauma among diverse populations (race, culture, class, gender, ability).
