In this course students will develop a practical working knowledge of living organisms that affect the health of the forest. This course will concentrate on the reasons why the "natural" and sometime "unnatural" presence of insects, fungi, noxious plants and vertebrates can adversely affect our management objectives for the forest. Consideration is given to the beneficial roles played by these organisms in the ecosystem and the ways in which these roles can be upset by human intervention. Emphasis will be placed on getting to know how these functions affect forest ecosystems. Emphasis will also be placed on the recognition of existing and potential pest problems in the field. 2023/01/09-2023/04/28 Lecture Wednesday 09:00AM - 12:00PM, Centre of Excellence in Sust, Room 201 (more)...
