This course will examine significant Indigenous texts from a range of genres and traditions, and will focus on specific themes such as oral tradition, the experience of Indigenous women, colonialism/decolonization, and the literature of resistance. A selection of diverse literary and cultural texts will engage in both critical theory and Indigenous thought and practice in nuanced and creative ways, from short stories and poetry, to films and art installations.
