As future community health workers, students will need to have a strong foundation of understanding the aging process and the elderly. This course will examine the similarities and differences between western approaches and Aboriginal traditional approaches to caring for our elders. This course will address the legacy of physical and sexual abuse in residential schools, including the intergenerational impacts by providing students with the opportunity to work with community members, especially elders.
